Kunlun Group Headquarters Hangzhou, China

The Kunlun Group project calls for a development inland of the Yangtze River, a manufacturing hot spot in the midst of the Hangzhou metropolitan area, which is now undergoing a rejuvenating transformation. Our concept includes an environmentally sustainable office design to both the tenants of the building, as well as the public. Lush hanging gardens are proposed on top of outside walk-ways to add a, “greening” effect to the public in such an industrialized area. This in theory would greatly enhance not only the air quality, but also the quality of life for the users of the building and the … Continued

Context: Zhou Shan is an island close to Ningbo, China. As part of an archipelago bordering the East China Sea, it is developing in importance as the archipelago’s islands … Continued

No two parcels are identical. A boardwalk aligns the canal, providing public access to the waterway and its piers. As the first villa designed, its scale and … Continued

CUHK (Chinese University of Hong Kong) Hong Kong

Premise: The contemporary university campus represents a physical platform for the interaction of faculty and students as they both engage and expand fields of knowledge. As such, the campus should foster an environment which encourages interaction (planned and chance) between members of the university and the outside world. It is in fact the “chance encounters” that more often yield new and surprising ideas and research. In addition, the mixing and matching of discipline groups (which break out of the traditional wall-like edifices so that often have defined campuses and their buildings), are more likely to result in a creative and … Continued
